Thank you to Andy and Karen Sibson who have generously added £1050 to our Guide Dogs charity pot and for helping us to get closer to our fundraising target.
Here’s what Andy had to say about their donation:
“Rita was given to Andy and Karen Sibson in 2016 by Frank Williams from Bloxwhich, West Midlands. He was clearing his garages and offered Rita to me free of charge on the understanding that I was never to sell her for a profit.
Rita was to be a renovation project, she was MOT exempt and Road tax exempt. She had an MG Midget 1275 engine fitted and so was quite a spirited drive ! You just had to wait for the brakes to work!
It became apparent that I was never going to do Rita justice and so I asked Frank if it would be ok to sell Rita in order to donate any money made to the Guide Dogs for the blind. He agreed and we attended the Sharnford Arms Petrol Heads day where Rita was put up for sale. That day Rita raised £1050.00 which has now been passed to Mr Martin Burchnall of T & W so the money can be added to the total raised by T & W for Guide dogs for the blind charity”.
